First, follow a beautiful sunken path to the Waldbad Rohden. Incidentally, the Waldbad has a heated swimming pool and is open from May to September, inviting you to take a dip in the cool water. When you reach the little river Iborn, turn right onto Schneegrundstraße.
Cross the Höllenbach stream and turn left into Fuchsbrückenweg.
Finally, turn left into the path “to the waterfalls. A real highlight is the Langenfeld waterfall. In dry summers there is little water there, but at the beginning of spring the waterfall is really impressive.
The Langenfeld Waterfall is Lower Saxony’s highest natural waterfall. It is 298 metres above sea level. The water of the Höllenbach plunges 15 metres into the depths here. Until 1922, the Höllenbach provided energy for the Höllenmühle mill, which was built in 1782. Today, only the picturesquely situated mill pond in front of the building reminds us of this “eventful” past.
After a few metres on the forest path, you then reach the viewing platform of the Langenfeld waterfall.
Then head back along the Höllenmühlweg. At the end, turn left onto the “Langen Jammer Weg”. Shortly before the end, return to the hollow path.
The entire circular walk is a good 8 km long and is classified as a medium-difficulty tour, as a little basic fitness should be present.
