Excursion tip: Bad Münder am Deister

Bad Münder am Deister is only 20 km away from Hotel Stadt Hameln. With the S-Bahn line 5, the journey from Hameln station takes only 20 minutes.

Bad Münder lies on the low mountain ranges of Deister and Süntel. A visit to the spa town of Bad Münder can therefore be combined very well with a hike through the wooded and hilly landscape.

In Bad Münder itself, the historic old town and the spa gardens with a worthwhile graduation house offer exciting insights. The graduation house in Bad Münder is 15 metres long and 4.5 metres high and was used for salt production. Today it is used for brine inhalation and protects the respiratory tract.

The spa town was founded as early as 1870, when a pharmacist considered the mineral-rich springs to be beneficial to health and invested in a bathhouse and spa park.

In front of the pretty town hall, you can admire the Söltjer fountain, a reminder of the past with its salt production. And if you want to learn more about the town’s history, you can visit the town museum, the Wettbergsche Adelshof at Kellerstraße 13.
