Our tip: A trip to Schaumburg Castle

Schaumburg Castle is only about 20 km away from Hotel Stadt Hameln. It is about 12 kilometres to Rinteln. The castle is located in a wooded area on the 225-metre-high and Nesselberg and offers a wonderful view of the Weser valley.

The Schaumburg was built in the 11th century. You can see old walls and towers, a mighty old court lime tree and a gloomy castle prison. The rustic restaurant “Schaumburger Ritter” is located directly at the castle, so your physical well-being is taken care of.

There are many ways for guests of the Hotel Stadt Hameln to get there. A nice day trip by bike or a boat trip with the Weser fleet and a subsequent hike from Rinteln are good ideas. Of course, an excursion with your own car is also possible.

Schaumburg Castle is accessible free of charge and open 7 days a week.
